MASK WORK

Heavily influenced by the 30 year collaboration between Danish Theatre Maker Per Brahe and Balinese Mask Maker Ida Bagus Anom, Broken Mirror Studios is thrilled to offer this incredible and deeply transformative approach to mask work and the exploration of character.
Utilizing tools such as Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms, clown nose, working gesture, and improvised mask exploration, students will be given multiple opportunities to confront, play, and without judgement explore and engage with aspects of their own humanity. The wooden masks that are used are all hand carved in Mas, Bali and are considered sacred works of art.
Studying this work can result in:
- A heightened understanding of self and character
-Amplified awareness & sensitivity of the body
-Greater ease of expression through voice, body, and the imagination
-Healthier relationship with ego
-Elevated sense of strength, balance, and mobility.
