Somatic Jam
A Monthly Mask Practice for Artists, Seekers, and the Curious

About the Series

The Somatic Jam is a monthly jam for actors and artists who’ve already completed an intro mask workshop and are eager to keep the work alive. This is not a lecture space — it’s a space for exploration, recalibration, and deepening.

Held every second Sunday of the month, these 2–3 hour sessions are a chance to tune your instrument, reconnect with your body, and dive into the transformative power of the mask. Each session will be different — some open and playful, some thematic and targeted — but all rooted in the spirit of inquiry, sensation, and freedom.

You can expect:

  • A  Boundary practice and check in at the start of every session

  • A short grounding and framing of the day

  • A 30–45 minute movement warm-up (drawing from 5 Rhythms, breath, and guided somatic work)

  • Mask explorations, solo, group, or ensemble

  • Carved time to journal, reflect, and process

  • A closing practice to end the day.

Every few months, we’ll offer a two-day format:
Day 1: Intro-level training (optional for returners)
Day 2: A deeper, more advanced exploration open only to returning participants

NEXT JAM

Clowns, Mischief, and Mayhem

July 13th · 2nd Sunday Series Kickoff

12-3pm

We begin with the tricksters. This first jam is a joyful revolt. We’ll work with clown and mischief masks — those that challenge order, unravel ego, and delight in chaos. These archetypes demand presence, agility, and surrender. You’ll be asked to take risks, follow your impulses, and disrupt your own expectations.
