Service Description

Unleash the potential of embracing your inner clown to explore human connection and play. In this month-long exploration, participants will delve into the art of clowning and unlock its principles through a series of lessons, games, and improvisations. This program provides actors with valuable skills in improvisation, physical comedy, and audience interaction, leading to a more memorable and engaging performance. This training goes beyond mere silliness - it's a valuable tool for performers seeking to infuse their craft with spontaneity and joy. Brooke Shilling Born and raised in New York City, Brooke holds a BFA in Acting from Ithaca College and an MFA in Devised Performance from The University of the Arts/Pig Iron School in Philadelphia. She has facilitated workshops and taught as a visiting artist at the University of the Arts, theatre and educational organizations all over New York and Philadelphia, One Year Lease Theatre Company's Apprentice Program in Greece, Japan and India, and others. Brooke's solo show Ladies of the Land has been presented at The Drama League, Dixon Place, and the Shoe Box Short Theatre Festival. Brooke is a two-time Illuminate the Arts Individual Artist Grant recipient, awarded by the City of Philadelphia Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy. NOTE: For the sake of financial sustainability, Broken Mirror is adapting its pay-what-you-decide model. 50% of the student roster will still be able to pay what they decide, the remaining 50% of the class will pay full price. Wix cannot accept payment online with a Pay-What-You-Decide model. So if you would like to attend class but cannot pay the full tuition, reach out and you'll be able to pay via venmo, zelle, or cash.
